Joanne Wilson BSc MIACP is a highly qualified and experienced Counsellor/Psychotherapist and Supervisor, accredited with the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. Joanne works with adults from 18 years of age.
Joanne has been practicing for over 20 years. In addition to working in private practice, Joanne has five years clinical experience with Fingal Counselling Service, Swords and two years with Pieta House, centre for prevention of suicide and self-harm.
Joanne holds a Bachelor of Science honours degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Middlesex University and a higher level diploma in Integrative Supervision among other certificates of training.. She continues to further her training by regularly attending training workshops and courses for ongoing professional development.
Joanne's core training is in Person Centred and Humanistic Counselling however she uses an eclectic approach combining this with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Brief Therapy, Choice Therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Existential Psychology to suit the individual needs of each Client.
Joanne is a trauma informed therapist who works with a whole range of issues including but not limited to Depression, Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Phobias, Relationship issues, Self esteem and Self worth, Despair and Suicide ideation, Bereavement and loss, Stress management, Anger management, managing ling term chronic illness, LGBTQ issues and Autism, Aspergers, OCD, ADHD and PTSD.
Joanne always adheres to the code of ethics set out by IACP and a copy is available to each client on request.
Clients can submit receipts to claim from their health insurance, however it is the responsibility of the client to check their insurance provider accepts IACP accredited counsellors and psychotherapists.
